Nov. 28-29:
The weather wanted to play havoc with our plans for Thanksgiving weekend. On Friday, I left with Miss E to take numerous rabbits to Manhattan, KS to the ARBA rabbit show. We stayed overnight in a hotel (the buns stayed in the armory, where the show was taking place), and we door dashed Firehouse Subs -which was excellent, by the way.
Saturday morning, we went to the show and it was RAINING. It like, rained the whole morning, then turned to a bit of snow, and then it stopped by the afternoon. Miss E ended up with 2 BOBs for Smudge, who was the only French Lop entered in the 2 youth shows. She also had a Best of Opposite for variety and a Best of Opposite breed for Youth B show for her mini lops-both were the recent babies.
We drove home starting off with wonderful roads and about 1/2 hour into it, the roads got yucky. It had snowed north of Manhattan, including home and since the wind was awful, snow was blowing across the road, making spots slick and snow covered. We got home in one piece, with some new rabbits, by the way, we were FULL in the back and the extra weight probably helped keep us stable! It took the next day for us to recover from all of that.
