New Year's Eve

Dec. 31:

No party plans for us today, but the kids and I went to Lincoln to do orthodontic appointments, and a little shopping.  The girls outvoted IC and he got to try HuHot today-it wasn't his thing.  Of course, there was a stop at JoAnn's for crafts and Scheel's, where about the only time IC and Miss A got along was looking at guns.  Then, all 3 played at the fun shooting range.  It was a cold, but pretty good outing, as we haven't really gotten out much this vacation, preferring to stay home mostly.

Last Christmas Celebration

Dec. 30:

We had our last Christmas celebration for the year at my in-laws.  We managed to sneak it in before the new year and with my nephew and his wife announcing that they are expecting.  JJ and I will be great uncle and aunt come early July.

Christmas Day

Dec 25:

Christmas day started with Miss E getting everyone up by 7 am, not too bad, really.  After we opened gifts at home, relaxed awhile, had a yummy duck for dinner, relaxed some more, did chores and cleaned up, THEN we went to my parents' for supper and gifts.  I was not feeling good not long after gifts, so we went home a little earlier than usual, but we still had a nice time.

The girls did some Lego building before we went to my parents'.

Christmas Eve

Dec. 24:

I got the kids to do our annual dip pretzels project in the afternoon.  In the evening, we went to Christmas Eve service and I had a solo.

Church Christmas Program

Dec. 16:

Miss E is my only one left to perform in the church's Christmas program.  She was a "star", which was what this skit was about-the stars talking about the birth of Jesus.  It was a cute program.  IC was a little bit involved, because he was asked by the director to do the sound, which he did great on, by the way.  Miss E did great with her lines and singing.  I directed the 5th and 6th choir, as usual.

High School Winter Concert

Dec. 13:

The high school had their band and music winter concert.  IC performed in the band and in the choir.  They sounded great and it was simple and fairly short.

Winter Concert

Tues. Dec. 4:

The girls had their winter concert at the middle school.  The kids did a really great job this year, and we could hear them really well.

Miss E first got an academic award.

Then, it was the junior high band, where Miss A played percussion.

5th grade choir sang a few songs.

Miss A is in Sound Sensations, so she sang and danced in the swing choir.

Last was the junior high choir, where Miss A sang several songs and had a solo on one of the songs.

Tree Decorations

Nov. 25:

I managed to get the kids to put up the tree and decorate it, but this was the first year we didn't get any pictures in front of the tree.  They are growing up too fast, that is for sure.

Boys Will Be Boys

Sunday, Nov. 18:

A couple of IC's friends came over and had a little 4 wheeler fun in the snow for a couple of hours.  I only heard of 1 kid tipping his 4 wheeler once.  They also tried running the sled behind the 4 wheelers, and IC managed to fall off his 4 wheeler once, but they had a really good time.

Hockey Game

Nov. 16:

I worked in middle school, and I happened to be in E bunny's class when the kids were taking turns being the teacher (for like, 5-10 minutes at a time.)  I just happened to get to see her at her turn.  She got to read the kids a story that had words in it like they were learning about in language arts class.

In the evening, we went to the Lincoln Stars hockey game, as L St. was singing, and IC also got to sing with the group.  The kids had fun and our whole family went and the girls had a good time, too.

Happy 15th Birthday, IC!

Nov. 12:

IC turned 15.  He already got the big part of his gift with his forge, so he opened a small gift on his birthday.

Dinner Theater

Nov. 3:

The high school had their fall dinner theater.  After watching the play, which was very entertaining, we went to the high school to eat and watch the concert.  L St. was first, and IC plays bass for the swing choir.  Then, he played guitar while a friend sang a song.  IC also performed in the concert choir and had a guitar solo during one of the songs.  He did a great job.
