IC's Proud Moment

On January 9, just 2 weeks after getting this monster for Christmas, IC finished his death star.  He was pretty happy and it was a very big accomplishment-3,803 pieces!

Trap Team Bound

Over Christmas break, we took a trip to Lincoln and to (ugh!) Scheels.  IC got a hunting vest, a trap shooting vest, a box of shooting clay, some ear muffs and . . ..
.

a clay shooter.  Yep, the boy wants to be on the trap team this year.  It's an expensive activity, that's for sure, but he is very determined to try it out this year.

Welcome to Youth League Basketball Season!

We are back to basketball season again!  The boys' first game was Jan. 4.  They lost but fought through the game.  IC scored 2 points, which was great!

Happy New Year!

Ugh-hard to believe the month is 1/2 over already and once again, I am behind on blogging and about a million other things.

We've finally got E bunny's tummy pain under control for the most part-it only seems to bother her at night and that's now not every night, so we are making progress.

We went about 2 weeks of no one being under the virus influence until this past Friday, when IC got sent home from school with a low-grade temp and a deep cough.  Ick.

We were just getting back into the swing of the routine when IC's guitar teacher decided to take a job that interferes with his guitar lesson.  Now, I am not sure what to do because it really doesn't work to go to York twice a week, at least for now.

My FIL had major heart surgery this past Wednesday-an aortic valve and aorta replacement.  JJ and I spent surgery day waiting with my MIL and JJ's 2 siblings until after the surgery was over and he was in recovery.  He is now off all monitors and improving daily.

The girls will be selling girl scout cookies in a couple of weeks-and this WILL be our last year.  I am ready to close the chapter of this particular book for several reasons.

I have already been back to work at school, but luckily, it's only been a day last week and a day and a 1/2 the week before, which is good.  I have lots of things I would like to work on and I don't want to be back to working all the time for awhile.

My dad is now working with JJ since his place of employment for 40+ years pushed him into retirement on Dec. 31, 2014.  So, now, the kids get to see him almost daily, which is definitely good for both sides.

It should be interesting to see what happens as the year moves on.
