Kindergarten Thanksgiving Program
I find myself getting more sentimental about the little things this year. E bunny's Kindergarten class had their annual Thanksgiving program on Friday, November 22. They sang several songs, had a snack, and played some games in the gym for 45 minutes. I remember going to both IC's and Miss A's programs, so going to my last one for E bunny was a little bittersweet.

Friday, the 15th, we all went to Evening with Friends Restaurant in Milligan to celebrate with the extended family for IC's birthday. It was a nice evening and good meal!

Happy Birthday, IC!
Tuesday was IC's birthday. I surprised him by eating dinner with him at school, which he seemed to like. Hard to believe he's been around for a decade already-he's now in double digits!
Turns out it was a special day. IC turned 10 on 11-12-13!

4-H Awards and Movie
It was late when we got home Saturday night, so Sunday morning, I let the kids sleep in and didn't push them to Sunday School. I've never done that before, but since we weren't going to be home in the afternoon, I thought I'd better let them get a little rested up.
After dinner, we headed to the movie theater in town for the 4-H awards. IC got his Level 1 Amethyst Clover Pin and JJ was recognized for being a 1st year 4-H leader.
After that, we watched the movie, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2." After that, it was time to go home.

Cub Scouts At Morrill Hall
Saturday, the 9th, we headed in the afternoon to Lincoln to get IC his birthday gift-a fancier amp for his guitar. He was thrilled!
After Dietz's, we headed to Morrill Hall for a cub scout scavenger hunt. We went to a similar one when IC was a Tiger (1st grader), but this just didn't seem as fun, at least, for the adults. The girls had a pretty good time and IC enjoyed some of it, but I think we'll skip any more of these activities from now on. The kids got to break a "fossil" out of plaster, research different kinds of rocks, play a Native American game, see a spider being fed, play an extinct animal game, and learn some about DNA. We had pizza to eat and the kids took a little time afterward to check out the rock display and IC and I looked at the Native American things since he is studying that in school.

Birthday Movie
After a busy week of the usual, last Friday the 8th, we picked up 3 of IC's friends and headed to York to watch the movie, "Free Birds" for IC's bday. The boys were wild on the trip to and from the theater, but were really good in the theater, so it all worked out fine. They had a pretty good time!

Great Day of Singing
Sunday was the Great Day of Singing at church-all the choirs participated. I got to watch all the kids sing before I had to go up there for our choir. Afterwards, it was a pasta and ice cream bar, which was really good. After that, it was go home and veg out! We enjoyed snuggling under blankets to watch a movie and wasting away the day.
Great Saturday
Saturday, Nov. 2, was an absolutely beautiful day. After a busy morning of horse-riding lessons, and make-up piano lessons, the kids and I played outside all afternoon. They helped JJ cut down a couple of trees, IC used the lawn sweeper on some of the leaves in the yard, and I cleaned out the chicken house. After that, it was a round of football, play with the dog, and wrestle each other (I stayed out of that particular activity!). It was a GREAT day!
Trick-or-Treat
Halloween was a busy day for me. First, I helped with IC's class party in the afternoon, so I got to see all the kids parade through the school showing off their costumes.
Then, I did the games for IC's party. We had fun, I think-at least, IC said the games were fun! I had each person decorate a ping pong ball like an eye and then they tried to get them in a bucket. After that, we made a huge spider web with a ball of yarn. I had everyone in a circle and then they tossed the yarn to the person across from them-they thought that was cool. After that, they tried to pick up candy with their toes.
After school, I took the kids to my mom's to trick or treat before we went back to town to do the "Scare on the Square" and trick or treat at the businesses. After that, it was the Harvest Party by the E-Free church and the kids played a few games, jumped on the bouncy things, and ate hot dogs.
After that, we called JJ and he came to trick or treat with us. The kids got plenty of candy and had a relatively good time! We were all tired the next day for school, but it was worth the fun!

Pumpkin Carving Time
Tuesday, the 29th, when the kids got off the bus from school, we immediately set to carving pumpkins, since I had a Girl Scout leader meeting to go to later that evening. I had the tops cut so the kids could get to work on cleaning them out right away. This was Miss A's first year to cut into her pumpkin herself and I didn't help IC at all with his. I still cut up E bunny's and helped get out all the goo (which, the chickens loved, by the way). They did a good job!
