A shopping day with the girls. Some conflicts, some silliness, and an unplanned stop to see the fish at the pet store all happened, along with important stops like Barnes and Noble, Guitar Center, and Walmart!

The musical that almost didn't happen. After losing their main character, the Beast, Cameron, to a devastating car accident earlier, this musical was almost doomed before it made it to the stage. The kids almost didn't go through with it, but they decided to do it for him and the "show went on". Several of the cast took turns being the Beast and the musical was performed after school was out for the summer. The kids did an awesome job. Miss A was the librarian, a townsperson, and a dancing napkin. Miss E was a townsperson and Babette. The girls did great, as well as the rest of the cast. It was well worth the work that they put into it.
May 21:
Miss A's New Student day started early. We drove through water that was over the road, and took a muddy country road detour to avoid the jackknifed semi blocking the highway, but we made it in one piece. There were some activities and speakers and it poured rain for awhile, but we went home in nice weather and Miss A completely crashed on the couch afterward.
May 11:
Miss A's graduation! The ceremony went well and the reception following was exhausting but it also went well.
May 9:
Miss E's horticulture class in school spent a couple of days showing little ones from the elementary how to transplant plants. This greenhouse was built in the past few years and is just starting to give the kids a way to learn about horticulture.
May 8:
Not a typical day. At all. After work, I went to mom's to take/get some things and noticed there was some heavy smoke southwest of their place. I didn't think much about it until I drove down our road, and the smoke got heavier and darker and seemed to be close by. And close it was-by the time I got to Mike's place, the garage was engulfed in flames and black smoke was billowing out. The fire department had been called by that time and Dad and I and JJ all arrived about the same time. By then, the shed was also on fire. The fire department was soon there and did save part of the shed. The garage was long gone, along with Mike's work truck and his lawn mower. We lost the sprayer and had damage to the green straight truck, the small cab tractor, and the "B" tractor. In the end, we only had to replace the sprayer, the rest is repairable.
