Dancing in the Street

November 17
We braved the cold night to go to York's Christmas Festival to watch E's classes dance on the street.

Happy 13th birthday, IC!

IC's birthday fell on Saturday this year, and he invited 3 other friends to go paintball shooting in Lincoln.  We stopped in Crete for dinner before heading to our 1:30 time slot.  JJ and I also played with the boys and we had a blast shooting each other with the lower caliber paintballs.  In the evening, was dirt cake and a small gift.  It was a pretty good birthday for him!

Crutches and a Boot

The next day, Miss A and I went back to the doctor office to get fitted for a boot, since she did have a fracture on a growth plate.  So, then, it was crutches and a boot for  several weeks.

Going shopping in Walmart was a hoot that first week, as we had to borrow the local walmart wheelchair that had a few issues (like the shopping basket didn't lock).

The first week or so, Miss A didn't mind being laid up, she was tired and sore for several days.  After awhile, though, she did start to get bored.

For several days, we brought up her bunnies to play with.

IC and Miss A also spent part of a Saturday afternoon melting wax and crayons, in an attempt to make their own candles.  That didn't go quite as well as they hoped, but it kept them busy for awhile.

Halloween

Halloween fell on a Monday this year.  On Sunday, during chore time, Miss A was jumping on the hay bales when she missed and fell, landing sideways on her foot.  I took her with her hurt foot to the doctor Monday morning.  And THIS is where we ended up:

Turns out, she sprained her ankle for sure, with a possible fracture of her foot.  So, on crutches she went.

In the afternoon, I went to E's class to watch her in the costume parade, and then I did a craft and helped with games for her Halloween party.

In the evening, we trekked to my mom's house before picking up JJ at home and taking the mermaid and cowgirl to town to trick or treat.  We borrowed the wheelchair from the church for that, as it was hard for Miss A to walk on crutches.

Fall Happenings

October 13
Parent visitation week at dance was this day for us.  So, besides going to the girls' regular dance classes, I also went to Miss E's dance acro class to take a few pictures of her tumbling.

October 18
The girls gathered the leaves to jump in them during this week.  They even got IC to help with the leaf blower a couple of days.

October 24
Red Ribbon week at school.  Miss A got a prize for being one of the kids with the most red on this day.

Early Birthday Present

October 1, we took IC for his surprise birthday present-to his first Husker football game!  He was pretty excited and showing him all the pomp and circumstance that goes with a game was pretty cool. A definite bonus was the fact that we actually won the game.

4-Wheeling & Homecoming

September 24:
Miss A got her first lesson in driving the 4-wheeler.

September 30:
Homecoming parade.  IC was on the Jr. High football float and the girls caught LOTS of candy!
