New (to us) Car

July 17:

IC has been looking for a car.  Miss A will be ready to drive early next year and IC wanted his own vehicle.  And he found one, from a friend in town. It's a manual drive and he loves it!

County Fair

July 10-15:

The county fair this year was over a weekend instead of taking up a whole week, and that worked pretty well.  Miss E came home from camp and we pretty much went right into fair activities.  The 12th was awards night and IC got senior champion for science and technology with his purple ribbon entry for his bale spear.  Miss E got junior champion for science and technology for her prairie diorama.  Miss A sold her cherry pie on the cake auction.

Saturday was the rabbit and poultry show.  The girls did well and had purples on all their rabbits except one.  Miss A came away with Reserve champ fancy rabbit.

Sunday was the beef show.  Miss E came away with champion 2nd year bucket calf, Buddy!  She also got a purple in jr. showmanship, top blue for her steer, and champion rate of gain steer.  She did really well!

Monday was the auction, which I missed because I was taking Miss A to camp.  We did some pictures the night before of Bozo.  And the tears did fall for Miss E, she so loved both Buddy and Bozo and it was hard to say goodbye.

This is Bozo:

This is Buddy.

Camp #1

July 8-12:

Miss E went to Splish Splash camp at Fontanelle.  She had a great time: going to go to a water park and ice skating and making new friends.

4th of July Parade

July 4:

Was the 4th of July parade at 4 pm.  Miss A was the only one of the kids who didn't ride a float.  IC started off the parade marching in the band.  He is playing a new instrument this year.  Instead of the saxophone, he's playing the mellophone.  Miss E rode on the softball float with the other 10 and under softball team.  She had fun.  IC then rode on the legion baseball float at the end of the parade line!

15's baseball

May-July:

Mid-May - July, IC was on the 15's baseball team for his last year.  Since the coach did not look favorably on IC, it was not the most pleasant/fun year.  He played outfield center most of the time, with a little bit of shortstop once in awhile.  After 10 years in GAED baseball, it's hard to believe he is done.  His team finished 3rd in the final tournament, and he got a home run in the final inning to help his team come back and win 6-5 after being behind.

Swimming Lessons

June 24-28:

Swim lessons for both of the girls.  Both girls passed.  Miss A finished her last level of lessons, and Miss E has just 1 more level to go.
