So, IC and JJ have been shooting together for 6 weeks now, every Sunday evening. I did not know this, but there were awards given out for top teams on Sunday, September 18.
IC and JJ got 2nd place in Geneva Gun Club's Fall 2-Man League, Class C!
Pretty awesome!

Bunny Babies
We currently only have 2 out of a litter of 6 that survived Marshmellow's first time as a mom (she's a mini rex). At about 10 days, these little survivors open their eyes. They were born on September 4, while we were at the state fair. They are now 2 weeks old. Pretty little chocolate mini rexs. One is squirrely, and the other is a sweetheart. Their parents are the same way. The mom is squirrely, and the dad is a sweetie.

Saturday's Experiment
IC has a 6 week class called applied science and the kids each have to do an experiment and then talk about it in class. His experiment was seeing which superglue holds the most weight. IC welded his hanging piece together and then we tried 3 different types of super glue brands to see which held the best (using metal). It was an experiment of trial and error, and it did not go well at first, but eventually, we got things going and were able to finish the experiment (although it took us all afternoon.)
In the midst of waiting, since I was the official picture taker, I took a few pictures of the craziness around the yard.
The playful, but under your feet constantly, kittens:
The off and on bored, girls:
The nosy and bossy, dog:
Who also was getting a lesson in shaking hands from Miss E:
And last, but not least, the very nosy, chickens, who come running anytime you are in the yard, love to fight the cats for scraps, and generally make a mess everywhere:

Games 2 and 3
Jr. High football is going much better after that first game. We have won both of the last 2 games and IC has done pretty well on defense and special teams.
IC got a little bit of 8th grader play yesterday, as he replaced an 8th grader on offense who was absent. So, he got a LOT of playing time. Defense, Offense and Special Teams. For a boy who wasn't sure he was going to play football in junior high, he's doing great. The coach likes him and told him if he keeps growing, he'll be a force to reckon with on the field. That's one of the few compliments he's ever gotten in playing football. It makes a difference when the coach doesn't have his own kids or favorites on the team. I am very proud of him!
Pink Out Football Game and Cheer Clinic
Friday, September 16, was the pink out football game AND cheer clinic. E bunny was the only one who did it this year, Miss A decided she didn't want to. She had some fun out there, and although we lost the game to Freeman, it was still fun.

First Day of Sunday School and First Time Acolyte
Sunday, the 11th, was the first day of Sunday School. The kids had some activities for the Sunday School time.
This was also E's first time as a acolyte and since the person who was supposed to help didn't show, Miss A got to be the helper to light the candles.

A New Bunny
Meet our new mini lop buck, Tim. We got him on Saturday, as our other 2 bucks are not doing well to produce bunnies. Tim wasn't too thrilled about the loud geese and chickens in the barn, but he will get used to them eventually.
Animal Happenings around the Farm
Friday, the 9th, we had a new addition unexpectantly, to our flock. One of our free roaming bantam hens had a clutch of 7 chicks in the yard. We were able to salvage 4 and get them to the chicken house. Like I said, this fall's litters are not doing all that well. They are now safe in the brooder until the babies get bigger.
We also gained 5 kittens recently from the neighbors-3 females and 2 males. We had them all in the chicken/rabbit house, but moved out 3 over the weekend to around the yard and left 2 for now in the chicken house.
The turkeys are growing and LOVE to roost as high as they can.

Jr. High Football
Tuesday, Sept 6, was IC's first Jr. High football game. It was against Centennial and we did end up losing, but oh well. IC played defense quite a bit for being a 7th grader and this being a big team this year.
State Fair, Day 3
We couldn't leave until 10 am, but we were on the road soon after that, ready to get home. We came home to Marshmellow having her litter, but as of today, she is down to just 2 babies instead of 5. She's not doing too well on her first time litter, so hopefully, she will improve with time.
Charlotte, E's holland lop, also had a litter a few days after we got back, unfortunately, she also messed up with her first litter and had them on the wire and they died. Hopefully, SHE will also do better the next time. We haven't faired well this fall with baby rabbits, so I hope it gets better soon.

State Fair, Day 2
On the 2nd day, September 4 (Sunday), was show day for IC. He started with rabbit showmanship, where he got a red, and then went on to show Snickers, Ozzie, Cinders and Licorice, getting a blue ribbon for each rabbit.
He was done by noon and only had to wait another hour or so before he got his showmanship results. After that, we did a little bit of walking around, before we decided to let the girls go on their carnival rides.
We did get enough tickets for everyone to ride the ferris wheel. That was pretty fun and good for us to do together.
The boys tried their hands at one game, but didn't win anything. They then went back to the rabbit barn to do chores and eventually eat something, while I stayed with the girls while they waited in ridiculous long lines for a few rides.
They had fun, but were pretty tired by the time I called it quits and we headed back to the hotel.
