Meet our bunny babies:
Chocolate is E bunny's rabbit. She had 2 babies (actually 3, but she lost one) on March 25. These pictures were when they were 12 days old. Their eyes weren't open yet. They were born without hair and about 1/2 the size of my hand.
We've been trying our hand at hatching our own chicks since early March. We didn't have a lot of luck at first, but we are getting better at it!
We've had a batch of eggs in the incubator about every 1-2 weeks to hatch and will be hatching the last batch for awhile next week.
Here is IC's 4-H steer, Joe.
Here are our medium sized chickens, that we got in early February. We made a pen for them in the old hog barn (it doesn't have pigs in it right now). They are very happy with lots of room and protection from the cold.
Here's the baby bunnies at 20 days old-they are growing and jumped out of the nest box today!
This is Rex, Miss A's full grown rooster, ready for 4-H showing this summer.
Alex, shown in a previous post, wouldn't let me take a very good picture of her today, but she too, is growing!
These are our full grown chickens. IC's rooster is with 3 hens and they are the ones who are giving us the eggs.
These are our first chicks we hatched, except the dark chick-it was an embryo lesson from a nearby school and it was the only one out of 16 that hatched. So the extension office offered it to us.
Here's our newest batch of chicks-hatched on Sunday.
Miss A's bunny, Thumper, was scheduled to have bunnies this week, but it's not looking promising, so we may have to try with her again.
The final thing that we are expecting is DUCKS. They are supposed to be here in 2 weeks. I kid you not-we've got ourselves a bona fide zoo around here! As I always say-never a dull moment on the farm!
