Saturday, the 15th, the kids got to play in some actual snow that fell. It wasn't much, but the kids always have the ability to make mountains out of molehills! They had a pretty good time!

Happy Birthday, IC!
IC's 11th birthday fell on Wednesday this year. So, before school, he opened his gift, which was some new arrows and a target for his bow.
In the evening after supper, we had IC's cake, which he chose to be dirt cake this year.

Meet Lucy!
Meet the reason for stopping at the pet store and the newest member of the family-Lucy! She's a 3 month old Great Pyrenees puppy. The kids were so excited to finally get a pup! After we got home from Lincoln on the 9th, JJ went to get her from a friend while the kids and I did chores. And yes, she will be another big dog!
Sunday Birthday Dinner
Sunday, the 9th, we took IC and the girls to Lincoln after E bunny had finished singing in church. We went to CiCi's Pizza for dinner, at IC's request, before heading to the pet store to get a few supplies.
Then, it was off to Guitar Center to trade in IC's old small amp and then he got a new guitar that he'd been wanting for awhile. He did pay for a lot of it, though. And it will count for Christmas, since we bought him a new hard case for it. He's thrilled with it!

Birthday Bowling
Saturday, November 8, we took a rather loud load of boys to York to bowl for IC's birthday. They were kinda obnoxious, but we survived with only 1 injury.
What a bunch of hams! They are good boys with good hearts and ornery stinkers when they get together!

3rd and 4th Volleyball Tournament
Saturday morning, the 1st of November, we rose early to head to Shickley to be there by 8 for Miss A's volleyball "fun" tournament. We ended up having 3 teams and playing 4 games. They went fast, though, and we won 2 sets against 1 of BDS' 2 teams and another set against FC team #2. Miss A scored 9 points and did a great job!
We left by 10:30, ordered pizza for dinner, watched the Husker game in the afternoon, finished chores early, had supper at a good time and enjoyed the rest of our day at home!

Trick or Treat!
After doing chores, it was off to Scare on the Square in town to trick or treat at the business'. After that, we headed to my mom's to trick or treat. Then, we ended up going to Strang to eat supper with my mom before then heading back to town to trick or treat around some neighborhoods. We picked up JJ on the way and he sat with me in the car while we took the kids to different streets to get candy. We couldn't just walk around neighborhoods like we usually do because many people were gone to the h.s. football playoff game (which we lost, by the way). So, we had to skip around the streets more than usual. But the kids still hit a lot of houses and got plenty of candy.
Pumpkin Carving
The girls and I carved their pumpkins Halloween morning. IC's pumpkin rotted before we were able to carve it, so he wasn't able to carve one. Miss A's pumpkin was unexpected starting to rot, but we were able to carve it anyway. I helped E with her pumpkin and Miss A did hers pretty much by herself.
Cheer Lock In
Miss A got to go to the FC Cheer lock in Thursday night. I took her there at 7:30 pm. They had pizza, made a cheer leading hair ribbon, painted nails, played the game Sardines, and watched 2 movies. Needless to say, Miss A didn't get a lot of sleep! They camped out on the gym floor for the night.
Halloween morning, I went to get her at 8 am and the girls did several cheers before we headed home. She had fun, but was pretty tired!
On the way home, I hit something with my car tire and had to basically turn around and head back to town to get it fixed. IC helped JJ load the steers to be sold and the girls stayed in to watch TV. We got to stay home the rest of the morning and early afternoon before the big activities for the evening.

Halloween Party
I worked in the morning in TYKE on Thursday, the 30th, and then at 1 pm, I headed to E bunny's class for her Halloween/Red Week parade and class party. The parade was first and I got to see both girls. Then, I ran the games in E bunny's class. We made a spider web with yarn and then decorated a ping pong ball to play a game of getting it in the bucket. After that, was a snack. The kids seem to have a pretty good time.
Done!
Final harvesting day was Monday, October 27. We had finished our own harvest the week before and JJ worked 3 days to harvest for Saltzman's. I am so glad we are finally done!
Sunday Afternoon At Home
We FINALLY got to be at home on a Sunday afternoon-October 26, to be exact. IC had gotten JJ's bow and arrow set from storage earlier in the week and was determined to try it out. Of course, then the girls had to have a turn also!
It wasn't long before BOTH JJ and IC had lost 3 of the 10 arrows! They even got the metal detector out after we all walked the field trying to find them. No luck, though, they are still missing.
After the girls got bored with the the bow and arrows, they went fishing and soon needed Daddy's help to deal with difficult snags, etc. IC joined in and needed help working a "new" rod that he got from JJ's aunt and uncle off an auction.
It was a pretty nice afternoon to fish and play!
